Add configuration for buffer size

Add configuration for buffer size

Postby Northdude » Mon Nov 02, 2009 2:48 pm

Hi,

I know you set the buffer sizes real small to reduce latency but then, we are getting A LOT of buffer overrun. At least I do over here at work. If you just added a buffer configuration, everyone could configure it properly for themselves. Because despite having paid for it, for now this application is simply useless to me. I won't yet rate it on the app store, I'll wait for the next release, but PLEASE add a configuration for the buffer size.

Thanks

+1 - and the buffer size should be set in terms of time delay the buffer will cause (eg. 0.05 seconds, 0.10 seconds, etc) rather than the memory size (5k, 10k, etc) of the buffer. The main reason for this is that some video playback apps, like Boxee and Plex, allow you to offset the audio from the video! Thus, if you set the buffer on AirTunes to 1 second (which I'm guessing would cover most if not all dropouts), then set Boxee/Plex to play the audio 1 second ahead of the video, you'd end up with perfectly synced audio, free of dropouts!
